So, who is this guy anyway?
I’m Connor Terrell, a voice actor, musician, onscreen/stage actor, teacher, and all around entertainer based in the Richmond, VA area. I began my journey in the performing arts when I was young and thus have been performing for over 20 years!
During my teenage years, I was very active in the local theatre scene through organizations such as SPARC and played a variety of roles in various productions. Some highlights from this period include Uncle Fester in The Addams Family (SPARC, 2014), Wilbur Turnblad in Hairspray (SPARC, 2015), and Ben Weatherstaff in The Secret Garden (SPARC, 2015). It was also during this period that I started to become interested in voice-over, though nothing would come of it just yet. During this time, I also released my first single, “You Gotta Start Somewhere.”
I received my Bachelor’s of Music (Voice) from VCU in 2019. During my undergraduate studies, I was heavily involved in their opera and choral programs, with highlights including Maestro Spineloccio in Gianni Schicchi, Don Basilio in a scene from Le Nozze di Figaro, and Don Curzio in the university’s full production of the opera. I participated in the premiere of several pieces with both the Choral Arts Society and Commonwealth Singers. Lastly, I am a brother of the Rho Omega Chapter of Phi Mu Alpha.
It was during my undergraduate work that I began to seriously look at voice-over as a career. So, in 2018, I officially began working professionally as a voice actor, beginning with the audiobooks for How to Get a Promotion When Your Boss is trying to kill You and Six Pack Gyration: The Six Pack Series Book 2. From then on, I began lending my voice to a variety of projects, including Roscoe in The Peace Guild and many others.
I remain active in the performing arts scene as a member of the Richmond Chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society, The Virginians, participating in several performances with the chorus including division and district competitions. In addition, I also can regularly be seen performing in a variety of roles at Kings Dominion and at home games for the Richmond Flying Squirrels. I still perform around the area whenever I can, so be on the lookout if you’re in the Richmond area!
I began offering private lessons in 2021 starting with teaching at Sam Ash in Richmond, Thrive Music Academy in Mechanicsville, and now as an independent instructor teaching remotely through Zoom! My teaching style varies from student to student, and I strive to create a curriculum that suits your or your child’s needs as a music student. Currently, I teach voice, guitar, and piano.
Whether you need a zany voice for a project, live musical entertainment, or even help getting started as a musician yourself, look no further!
